Freely Given Consent
Consent made without coercion, hidden penalties, or forced access trade-offs.
Freely given consent means the user has a real choice and can refuse without being unfairly blocked, punished, or misled.
For journey-blocking consent, this is the core legal and UX fault line. A cookie wall, hidden reject path, or pay-or-consent screen can inflate opt-in numbers while weakening the quality of the choice.
