Guest-path share
Share of users who choose a guest / browse-without-account path when one is offered.
When guest paths are visible, a meaningful share of users take them — and many later convert anyway. When guest paths are hidden or visually subordinated, the same users either abandon or create an account they don’t really want, polluting the signup pool.
Measure as choose_guest_checkout / (choose_guest_checkout + choose_create_account) at the relevant decision point.
How patterns use this KPI
| Pattern | How it's instrumented | Why it matters there |
|---|---|---|
| Premature Conversion | choose_guest_checkout / browse_without_account | A clearly offered guest path reduces false inference that account creation is mandatory. |
